Hi, 你好，I am Sammi. It is Chinese New Year Eve today. I am at Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change with the local residents to celebrate Chinese New Year. What I am going to teach you today is how to say “Happy New Year” in Mandarin Chinese.

How to say  “Happy New Year” in Mandarin Chinese?

Xīnnián kuàilè!(新年快乐！) = Happy New Year!

Xīnnián (新年) = New Year

kuàilè (快乐) = Happy

Or you can say:

Xīnnián hǎo！(新年好！) = Happy New Year!

Xīnnián (新年) = New Year

hǎo (好) = good

“Happy New Year” in Chinese is Xīnnián kuàilè! (新年快乐！) / Xīnnián hǎo！(新年好！)
